Summer Adventures: Italy and Greece

This summer was amazing! I had my first trip to Europe, visiting Italy and Greece. I spent about 35 days traveling around both countries, it is a time I will not forget.

Part One: Italy (18 days)
I arrived in Italy and met up with my friend Nathan from Oregon. Our first stop was Rome for 5 nights. We visited all of the major tourist sites and saw some amazing history. Here are some pictures from Rome.

After Rome we rented a car and drove up through Tuscany to Elba. Elba is a small island off the west coast, it is where Napoleon was exiled, and escaped.

After Elba we drove to Florence. Florence was amazing! I loved all the art and history. This was my favorite stop on the trip!

From Florence we took the train to Venice.

After Venice we took the train back to Rome so we could catch our respective flights.

Nathan went back to Oregon and I continued on my jounrey.

Part Two: Greece (17 Days)
My trip to Greece started with a quick night in Athens and and early morning to catch the ferry to Mykonos, Paros, Santorini and Naxos then back to Athens.

The first stop on my island adventure was Mykonos.

After Mykonos I took a speed ferry to Paros. One of my favorite islands!

After Paros I traveled to Santorini the island of amazing views and sunsets!

a trip to the volcano!

Akrotiri Ruins
Next stop: Naxos! Another favorite! The largest of the Cyclades with the highest mountain, Mt. Zeus!

After a few weeks on beaches and islands I traveled back to Athens for a few days.

This summer was probably one of my favorite! I absolutely loved Greece and plan on going back! If you ever get the chance visit Greece!
